Shaytan’s speech before entering into the Hell

Allah Taala has made us clear about the consequences of following the footsteps of shaytan (the devil). In this worldly life, we are continuously invited and urged by shaytan to act against the commandments of Allah Taala. Shaytan tempts us towards the momentary attractions – the beauties and amenities which have been restricted (in this worldly life) by our Lord. Shaytan highly appeals us to accept and embrace whatever is opposite to divine commandments. Be how immodest a task is, be how vulgar a scene is and be immoral an act is, shaytan’s target is to trigger the temptation of those in our heart and mind to move astray from the straight path and finally become his follower. Allah Taala warns the Believers:

(Meaning) O those who believe, enter Islam completely, and do not follow the footsteps of shaytan. Surely, for you, he is an open enemy. [Sura Baqara: 208]

And not only so, Allah Taala unveils to us – how shaytan, before entering into hell, would denounce his support and promises for his followers openly and accuse themselves for their fates. Allah Taala states:

(Meaning) And the Satan will say when the matter will have been decided, “Allah promised you a truthful promise while I gave you a promise and did not fulfil it. And I had no authority over you, except that I invited you and you accepted my call. Hence, do not blame me, but blame yourselves. Neither I can come to your help, nor can you come to my help. I disown your associating me with Allah in the past. Surely, there is a painful punishment for the unjust.” [Sura Ibraheem: 22]

In these verses, Allah Taala has pointed out vividly our enemy, his characteristics and the consequences of making friendship with him; how could we be thankful to Allah Taala and express ultimate gratitude! It is beyond impossible.  Allah Taala has exposed the deception of shaytan to such an extent that He, the Merciful has mentioned the mankind of shaytan’s betraying words in the afterlife.

We have two options in front of us. One: to pay heed to the Promises of Allah Taala. Two: to accept the urge of shaytan. The choice is ours. If we exert efforts to take Allah Taala’s Path, support from our Lord is there. If we exert efforts to take shaytan’s path, the door is open. This is the “test” in the world. The Quran and AHadith is clear guidance in this regard.

Those who have endangered them by following the footsteps of shaytan may give a second thought right now and change their decision and direction of life.
