Allah has blessed us with Islam. Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah.

We are most fortunate to be Muslims by entering into the fold of Islam! Alhamdulillah. Even if more gratitude is expressed, the less it would be.

There is a special time to realize a blessing, an achievement or a gain — whatever you call or name it. If it is realized in time, then one can really benefit from the thing (the matter of blessing). There is also some special time for special appreciation.

When we are alive in this world, how much do we recognize, appreciate and express gratitude for the blessings? This is something to contemplate about. This is a time to especially become thoughtful. Because death is inevitable. Right after death, the hands, feet, eyes and all limbs will shut down! Their proper use at the right time means the right use of these blessings has been undertaken at the right time.

If by attaining Islam and obeying Allah’s commands, it can be said that the things given by Allah have been properly appreciated. From hands-legs-eyes-and all limbs to name, fame, wealth, children – everything that we have achieved, these are the gifts of Allah Subhanu wa Taala!

Think: Allah created an individual, a human — the ‘me’. Allah is the manager of all my needs. Allah has the most mercy, love and unparalleled blessings on me. All that I had, have, will have – He is the actual owner of everything, He is Allah! How important it is for me to worship Him, ask Him for help, and bow down only towards Him! And notice (clearly, Allah Almighty has said):

وَمَنۡ جَاہَدَ فَاِنَّمَا یُجَاہِدُ لِنَفۡسِہٖ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ لَغَنِیٌّ عَنِ الۡعٰلَمِیۡنَ

Meaning: Whoever strives (fights the Kuffaar or his own passions) strives only for himself (for his own benefit because he will attain the benefits and rewards). Allah Almighty is Independent of the entire universe (and is not dependent on their worship or obedience). (He created us to confer blessing on us). Sura Ankabut: 6

A believer’s thinking is important! The beliefs that I live and die with would determine my ultimate destiny. Expressing sincere gratitude after achieving the blessinga of Islam, enduring patience at adversaries (staying firmly on Allah’s Path) as a Muslim and standing in front of Allah on the Day of Judgment in such a state is the ultimate and absolute success!

Allah’s chosen Messengers (May Allah shower blessings upon all) have shown this single way for salvation! If one seeks to come out successful in both the worlds – in this world and hereafter, take shelter under the shadow of Islam. The Holy Quran has lucidly stated:

ذٰلِکَ الۡیَوۡمُ الۡحَقُّ ۚ فَمَنۡ شَآءَ اتَّخَذَ اِلٰی رَبِّہٖ مَاٰبًا

Meaning: That is the Day of Truth. So whoever wills (desires salvation) should adopt a recourse towards his Lord (by accepting Islaam and diligently fulfilling the injunctions of the Sharfah). Sura Naba: 39

That is, the appointed day for resurrection after death is definitely true. Its preparation has to be accomplished in the worldly life. You have to try to stay alive by taking refuge in Allah in advance (when we are alive in this world, before death). So much efforts of a believer is for the main purpose of preparing for the Day of Judgment. No worldly lust and luxury can prevent him from following the path of Allah! Such realization is the realization of true Imaan! Meditate on the verse of Sura Ankabut’s verse mentioned above, meditate on it again and again. Repent from the life of sin and lean towards Allah, it will be easy to walk in the path of Allah, inshaAllah!
