Conflict between Truth and Falsehood is Eternal: Rightful Perception is Important

• Last Updated on January 8, 2024 @ 9:06 am by Islaminlife Admin

In this world, the conflict between truth and falsehood is the oldest. In this era of the final and best Prophethood, the Jihaad of Badr was the first conflict to take place between truth and falsehood. Falsehood was grossly defeated and humiliated. The final conflict will be between truth and falsehood. Falsehood will be defeated again and grossly humiliated as well. This is the decree of Allah Almighty! (So, it is not incumbent to say InshaAllah to utter it).

Allah Almighty says:

Meaning: And say, “Truth has come and falsehood has vanished. Falsehood is surely bound to vanish.” Sura Bani-Israel – 17:81

Only two parties have existed in ages and times and till the end of this world, there will be only two. One of Allah’s. The other is Satan’s. Whenever the summoner of the truth (Prophets and Messengers or their successors) delivered their message, people were divided into two groups. Man’s beliefs and actions drive him fundamentally in one direction. Either, one accepts the truth or rejects it. Notice, how Allah revealed His judgment — clearly mentioning the two groups (the Holy Quran says):

أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ تَوَلَّوْا قَوْمًا غَضِبَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مَّا هُم مِّنكُمْ وَلَا مِنْهُمْ وَيَحْلِفُونَ عَلَى الْكَذِبِ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ

Have you not seen who have friendship with a people with whom Allah is angry. They are neither of you nor of them. And they swear false oaths while they know.

Allah has prepared a severe punishment for them. Indeed, evil is what they used to do.

They have taken their oaths as a shield, then have prevented (people) from the way of Allah. Therefore, for them there is a humiliating punishment.

Their riches and their children will never benefit them against Allah. They are the people of the Fire. They will live there forever.

(It will be) on the Day when Allah will raise all of them, and they will swear before Him as they swear before you, and will think that they have some standing. Beware that they are sheer liars.

The shaitan (Satan) has prevailed upon them, so he has made them forget the remembrance of Allah. They are the party of shaitan. Be sure that it is (the members of the) party of Shaitan that are the losers.

Indeed, those who oppose Allah and His Messengers, they are among the lowest.

Allah has written (in His pre-destined decree), “I will certainly prevail, both I and My messengers.” Surely Allah is All-Strong, All-Mighty.

You will not find those who believe in Allah and in the Hereafter having friendship with those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, even though they were their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their clan. They are such that Allah has inscribed faith on their hearts, and has helped them with a spirit from Him. And He will admit them to gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will live forever. Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Allah. Those are the party of Allah. Be sure that it is (the members of) the party of Allah that are the successful.

Sura Mujadalah – 58:14-22

Therefore, Allah Almighty has clearly identified the two parties of truth and falsehood.

Those who think that the complete eradication of falsehood is possible in the world are wrong. Of course, the rule of justice is possible. However, falsehood will always exist in this world and its followers will always continue to misguide people and lead them astray. Even many Muslims ignorantly say such things, like: Allah wants not even a single person to go to hell. Our question to these ignorant brothers is, how did you know that Allah wanted such a thing?! If Allah Almighty has said so, will not His will be fulfilled (Na’uzubillah – may Allah protect us)?!
Rather, look at what Allah Almighty stated:

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَن تُغْنِيَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَالُهُمْ وَلاَ أَوْلاَدُهُم مِّنَ اللّهِ شَيْئًا وَأُولَـئِكَ هُمْ وَقُودُ النَّارِ

“Surely, those who disbelieve, their wealth and their children shall not at all suffice them a bit against Allah. And those are the fuel of the Fire. Sura Ale Imran – 3:10

Allah has promised the fire of Jahannam to the hypocrites, men and women, and to the disbelievers who shall live there forever. It is adequate for them. And Allah has put His curse on them, and for them there is a lasting punishment. Sura Tawba – 9:68

Indeed, those who disbelieve from the People of the Book and the polytheists will be in the Fire of Hell, to stay there forever. They are the worst of ˹all˺ beings. Sura Bayyna – 98:6

It is clear from the above verses that the disbelievers will be extremely humiliated, completely unsuccessful and eternal dwellers of Hell for their disbelief.

There is no doubt that, as a servant of Allah Almighty, it is a great virtue to have compassion for other servants. However, there should be limits. To utter such a thing without even knowledge — Allah wills that not a single person goes to hell — is completely an inappropriate concept. One should never rise and utter such things which have no clear meaning and cause confusion. It is very important to take special precautions in speaking anything related to our religion (Islam)!

Iblis is bound to enter into the hellfire with his group. Those who follow Iblis will belong to his group. This is the divine decree. This scene of the Day of Resurrection is clearly presented in Sura Ibraheem:

And the Satan will say when the matter has been decided, “Allah promised you a truthful promise while I gave you a promise and did not fulfill it. And I had no authority over you, except that I invited you and you accepted my call. Hence, do not blame me, but blame yourselves. Neither I can come to your help, nor can you come to my help. I disown your associating me with Allah in the past. Surely, there is a painful punishment for the unjust.” Sura Ibraheem – 14:22

Allah Almighty can do anything if He wills, is one point – certainly fully true – without any doubt. And what is His desire, that is another matter. Who can dare delve into that?! Yes, again of course, what Allah Almighty has clearly informed us, and that does not need any explanation, not even mutashabihat (meanings of the verses that are not apparently understandable by us) are clear! Just as the meaning of the above-mentioned verses are as clear as the broad daylight.

Back to our discussion of the conflict between truth and falsehood. This will always continue till the end of the world. Because the truth will be revealed, spread; the truth will continue to rise. Falsehood will always attempt to block the path of truth; falsehood will always prevent the spread of truth. Truth will not submit to falsehood. Falsehood will be stubborn in its wrong stance. It will be stubborn in the path of oppression, the spread of lies, and on its efforts to implement untruth schemes in in view to establish falsehood. Truth will be firm in the fight against all these evildoings. It will resist the wrong and stand against all kinds of negative schemes. Therefore, there will be a continuous conflict between truth and falsehood, and it is inevitable. It is impossible to stop it. On this surface, the conflict between right and wrong is certain.

We need to understand and truth well. The truth is, whatever the Prophets and Messengers had brought from Allah Almighty. Consequently, their successors carried and propagated the truth. Beyond that, all the ways and views, which oppose the truth in any way, no matter how beautiful they may be on implicitly, are all false and void. In a word, everything contrary to truth is falsehood.

In opposition to Allah Almighty, shaitan’s followers want to dominate the earth. Since their preaching and domination are followed by shaitan, they are rooted in lies, injustice and oppression. Anyone who wants to be a part of their success will somehow indulge in lies, injustice and oppression. Falsehood only provides logistics and support to advocates of falsehood. Allah Almighty says about them:

ذَرْهُمْ يَأْكُلُواْ وَيَتَمَتَّعُواْ وَيُلْهِهِمُ الأَمَلُ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ

Let them eat and enjoy, and let (their) fancy make them neglectful, for they shall soon come to know. Sura Hijr – 15:3

Therefore, it was understood that when someone takes the opposing side of the truth in a conflict, whatever opinion, logic, or humanity they place, all lies, selfishness, injustice, and oppression are involved, because, the purpose is evil! Those who mix truth and lies, or call the truth a lie and a lie the truth, have nothing but their own desires – their only need is to fulfill their evil aspirations. They do not have any religion, neither they possess morality nor do they apply conscience! They have only one criterion to distinguish between truth and falsehood – their own fabricated words, and fabricated theories. Because they are selfish and greedy for worldly power and greed.

All belongs to the one and only, Who possesses the entire universe. The standard of truth and falsehood which He sets is acceptable only; none but it is the correct and perfect one. What is truth or falsehood can be accurately determined by Him. The Prophets and Messengers on earth had not said or conveyed anything from themselves. None called the people or their nation toward their own path or opinion. Whatever they’ve spoken of and invited toward, all were in view to fulfill the command of Allah. The successors of the Prophets and Messengers do Tableegh and Taleem of the same. Anyone who has taken a stand against them shall be deemed false, hence rejected.

From time to time, the enemies of Allah stand against the laws and regulations of Allah Almighty. They wage conflicts against the callers and followers of truth. In their attempt, they only see external success in their efforts to annihilate the laws and regulations of Allah Almighty. They never gain real victory by scheming and fighting against the callers and followers of truth. This is firmly believed by every believer. That is why Allah says:

وَلاَ تَهِنُوا وَلاَ تَحْزَنُوا وَأَنتُمُ الأَعْلَوْنَ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

And do not lose heart and do not grieve, and you are the uppermost if you are believers. Sura Ale Imran – 3:139

At present and before, falsehood has dared to display great power and arrogance against the truth. Reality is never what we apparently view and hear! Bloodshed and bombardment are one aspect and results or consequences are another. The purpose and method of action of the Muslims is one and that of the infidels is another. There is no plan to kill the women, children and old people of the enemy in the Jihaad that Muslims do. So, their tactics and fighting are not like non-Muslims. Fighting, shedding blood, striking the enemy – for Muslims, all these have a divine purpose – the heart of which is, seeking Allah’s pleasure, establishing truth by removing falsehood. Therefore, the tactics and strategies of the unbelievers and Muslims are never the same. So, there is no question that the result of the two is the same!

Seeing the violence of the enemies of Allah, the believers are shocked, they fall into great suffering. But this does not mean that it caused the believers to become intimidated or hopeless! Who in the land of Allah Almighty will show their power against Him?! Indeed, there is no need for anyone to compete and stand against Allah Almighty. Allah has honored his righteous servants by commanding them to do Jihaad! For this world, He has prescribed a rule for this world – because this place is where man is being tested. Man is given the opportunity and time to work according to his free will here now. This is indeed a trial and test! Those who jump to conclusions based on some external scenario in this world, are not intelligent. Today, Muslims bearing weak Imaan view the apparent conditions and get deceived. We fall into judgment by outward appearances and become perplexed and sad. Surely, there are several reasons for Muslims to become sad. The most sad and painful matter for Muslims is that today we Muslims couldn’t abandon major sins. For the disbelievers, the world is a place of opportunity to commit sins, but for the believers, the world is a place of preparation for leaving sins and achieving Paradise – Jannah. The disbelievers will be humiliated in this world by committing sins in this world. And the believers will get the honor from Allah in this world by giving up their sins. However, all people will suffer from some kind of trouble in the world. But the final consequences will always be good for the believers and bad for the unbelievers. It is the firm belief of every believer that the end, i.e., the Afterlife is eternally abode!

If Muslims wake up with his identity, the promise of Allah is for him. Sincerity, patience, piety – these qualities are such that they are important in the personal life, as they are important in every work up to the affairs relating to the state. Alas! Today most of the Muslims have a deficiency of these essentials even in their personal life.

However, the believer should not despair. Muslims must wake up. Because a true Muslim is on the side of truth, and Allah will make the truth victorious. All the falsehood will bow down when the believers stand firm. Every aspect, scene and Mujahid of Jihad bears witness that Allah’s favor is with us. It is not possible to understand it from outside, nor is it necessary. Rather, it is a reality to which even the unbelievers of all ages have testified (this is because Allah has shown many views from the unseen to the unbelievers at various times, they have narrated it themselves).

On the one hand, Allah has encouraged the believers to move forward. On the other hand, the disbelievers have been informed of the dire consequences. But today there are many doubts in the minds of many Muslims, hidden thoughts, various dilemmas! Where is Allah’s help, the promised support, where is our victory?! We seem to be an oppressed, humiliated nation.

In such a situation, every believer should remember that the blood-stained history of Islam repeats itself in the conflict between truth and falsehood. A Muslim does not oppress, even if he is oppressed. One has to wait by relying on Allah Almighty until His support comes. Even if life ends up, let it end! After this there is the Afterlife! The life of the world is not the end, but the life after that is the real!

On what basis are we believers? Not based on external wins and losses. If ‘conquering’ means surviving in the world and ‘conquering the kingdom’, then this is too narrow a meaning of conquest. It is much better to think that only the death of martyrdom as pure victory! (May Allah grant us all the death of martyrdom! Aameen)

The major victory of the Muslims lies in steadfastness in the commands of Allah Almighty till death. At first, a Muslim is required to carry on his responsibilities which is prime in this region. Again, it is also important that a Muslim should act according to his capacity and capability. Being ignorant about these makes us more confused and frustrated. Each of us should focus on what works in our region that will benefit ourselves and the Muslim Ummah as a whole. The task that is not in my capacity cannot be done by me! Therefore, should I regret it, or act within my capacity and capability? It is good to regret not being able to do those good deeds, no doubt, but if that regret and sadness lead me to the door of despair, it is never good. Today, due to grief, unnecessary thoughts are making us busy with wrong thoughts and practices. However, we are not commanded to think unnecessarily, rather it is forbidden in the Sharia (Islamic Principles). Thinking and trying to do things that are beyond our means will bring us nothing but loss in this world and the hereafter!

Common Muslims and influential Muslims should know and understand their respective responsibilities. According to that, one should concentrate on work with intention and determination. It will be a blessing in our life, inshaAllah. That will enable us to work for the Muslim Ummah – if anything, we can do – if Allah wills!

The Ulama (scholars) are carrying the biggest responsibility. They are the guides of the Ummah. Who-when-what should be done – they say. The common and influential Muslims – all must take refuge in them. It is from them – everyone of us should know what to do. The help of Allah Almighty will not be fully received until we try to fulfill our responsibilities. For those who are common people, it is not appropriate for any of them to express something decisive about major issues in the form of opinions hastily! And those who are responsible, it is not good for them to sit quietly when the situation is getting complex. Guidance coming from their side is natural and times call for it urgently. That’s why everyone should take refuge in the Pious Scholars’ guidance. We have to work knowing our responsibility. That is why Allah says:

فَاسْأَلُواْ أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ

And We did not send (messengers) before you other than men whom We inspired with revelation. So, ask the people (having the knowledge) of the Message, if you do not know. Sura Naml – 16:43

In fact, you will see how much these practices have decreased! Consequently, the majority of the Ummah has become so confused and misguided! May Allah protect us. Let us strive to fulfill our respective duties and responsibilities inshaAllah!

Finally, in this delicate situation, when falsehood rises with its evildoings and try utmost to carry out its heinous massacres on the innocent people of the Muslim Ummah, we condemn the worst act, and we beseech the support of Allah Almighty. Aameen.
