A Vivid Difference between the Two Groups of People

One fundamental difference between the lovers of this world and the lovers of Allah Taala is that the first group strives to gain name and fame in this world. The second group of people never does so. Therefore, the first group focuses on earning more wealth. On the other hand, the second group strives to focus on the pleasure of the Lord. People from the first group are ready to suffer any loss if their name and fame flourishes. Oppositely, the second group is ready to sacrifice utterly anything if their lord Allah’s pleasure is in the action. Indeed, the members of every group have clearly made an objective to achieve, which they define as success for them.

of both the worlds (this and afterlife), not merely the success of this world.

The first group has disbelieved the afterlife, which the Quran and Hadith explicitly warned about. Among them again there are such people, who have taken a more haughty stance by challenging the Creator with their knowledge and doings. They ridicule and turn down any single divine word. They are up to actions based on their carnal desires because they find them responsible and accountable to none.

What would be the ultimate state of such people who do completely unbelief the afterlife? The Quran has vividly quoted the leaders who misled the nation of a Messenger from Allah, Salih (Alayhis Salam) by saying:

(Meaning) Does he (the Prophet) promise you that, when you die and are turned into dust and bones, you are to be brought forth? Far too improbable is what you are being promised. There is nothing but our worldly life. We die and we live and we are not to be raised again. He [referring to the Prophet – Salih (Alayhis Salam) ] is nothing but a man who has forged a lie against Allah and we are not going to believe in him. [Sura Mu’minoon: 35 – 38]

Think a bit with a pause, here. Alike, the rejectors of afterlife today, relate their words to Allah blaming the believers just in similar manners. The disbelievers and arrogant sinners dare to make sarcastic remarks against Muslims by mentioning the name of Allah Taala, as if they were friends of Allah, and the sincere believers are fools or liars. By doing so, the disbelievers and their accomplices indeed are only the greatest losers.

When the arrogant leaders (disbelievers) called upon people in this way (as mentioned in the above verses meaning),  Salih (Alayhis Salam) gloomily said, (meaning) My Lord, help me, for they have belied me. [Sura Mu’minoon: 39]

Now see what Allah Taala’s reply is: (meaning) In a little while, they have to become remorseful. [Sura Mu’minoon: 40]

The behavior and consequences of the nation ‘Thamud’ whom Prophet Salih (Alaihis Salaam) invited has been stated in the Quran:

And to the Thamud [We sent] their brother Salih. He said, “O my people, worship Allah ; you have no deity other than Him. There has come to you clear evidence from your Lord. This is the she-camel of Allah [sent] to you as a sign. So leave her to eat within Allah ‘s land and do not touch her with harm, lest there seize you a painful punishment. [73] And remember when He made you successors after the ‘Aad and settled you in the land, [and] you take for yourselves palaces from its plains and carve from the mountains, homes. Then remember the favors of Allah and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption.” [74] Said the eminent ones who were arrogant among his people to those who were oppressed – to those who believed among them, “Do you [actually] know that Salih is sent from his Lord?” They said, “Indeed we, in that with which he was sent, are believers.” [75] Said those who were arrogant, “Indeed we, in that which you have believed, are disbelievers.” [76] So they hamstrung the she-camel and were insolent toward the command of their Lord and said, “O Salih, bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the messengers.” [77] So the earthquake seized them, and they became within their home [corpses] fallen prone. [78] And he turned away from them and said, “O my people, I had certainly conveyed to you the message of my Lord and advised you, but you do not like advisors.” [79] [Sura Al-Araf]

As believers, indeed, regarding the people who directly oppose and challenge Allah Taala, this thought should always be awaken in us: “In a little while, they have to become remorseful.” [Sura Mu’minoon: 40]
