While advising a person who used to deliver lectures to the people of Madina, Ummul Mu’mineen (Mother of the Believers) Aysha (RA) said (meaning) : You should fulfill three conditions while advising and instructing people. (First) Do not supplicate with rhyme; because, Rasulullah ﷺ and his Noble Companions [the Sahaba (R)] did not do so. (Second) Advise and lecture people once a week, or twice a week, or thrice a week (not more than that) – do not make the Qur’an feel monotonous to people. (Third) And may I not see you entering into people’s conversation and stopping them (i.e. do not interrupt them and start giving advice). Rather, leave yourself on the situation. If people permit you and evoke, then you may lecture. [From: Hayatus Sahaba (RA)]
