Evil Glances: The Baneful Sin

Evil glance is a dangerous sin. It is extremely important to refrain from it carefully. A little bit of uncaring glance could result in great harm. The damage of heart caused by evil glances often lasts for a long time. The affected heart then triggers only evil thoughts causing great disruption in Ibadat (worship). The heart and mind loses serenity. May Allah Taala save every one of us — the persistence of such an evil act even results in higher degree of violations resulting a death that snatches Iman, the most precious wealth!
At any cost we have to abstain from the things, companies and environments those induce and trigger evil glances. We should ban all those sources and shut the eyes before any sources that ‘could contain’ any type of polluted pictures or images. No matter how useful and important the materials seem to be, for instance the newspaper (similarly the news sites in the Internet), we should abstain from each and every threat with care. The nafs and shaytan would take full advantage presenting several excuses and lead me towards various pitfalls. They would uphold the contentment that you are performing prayers. You are carefully refraining from many haraam. You are so and so, therefore, be confident and peep into any thing you like — that won’t harm much. In this way even the pious-like people would be invited to various acts, which ultimately would open up the doors of evil glances and spoil the whole life. A constant vigilance is therefore required with regular supplication (dua).
How unfortunate it is that many among us are completely oblivion of this extremely poisonous and deadly sin! If my eyes are resting on the ‘haraam’ i.e. the restricted things without any feeling today, where am I in terms of Iman – is a question to myself, before it gets too late!
Many have been destroyed in this evil path. Many have been deceived. Movies, TVs, Internet and even cartoons of this age are highly contaminated things! O Muslim! Do not let your eye freely move around. Allah Taala knows every heart’s intention and desire. It is easy to escape your spouse, it is easy to escape your parents and friends, it is never possible to escape Allah Taala who never sleeps and always in observation! You are returning to Him soon.
