Whoever has been kept away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, he has really succeeded. And the worldly life is nothing but an asset, full of illusion. Sura Al- Imran: 185 (partial-verse)
In the above verse, Allah Taala has vividly disclosed that who could be called successful. We are running after beauty, wealth and all worldly matters which indeed are temporary and trivial. The Quran has wonderfully, wittily and precisely provided the important cautions such as this. After listening to such a divine announcement, only a fool would dare to define success in other ways. When Allah Taala and His Rasulullah ﷺ states something, it is a must for a believer to obey it with complete submission. Our nafs, shaytan and all those who oppose the judgment of Allah Taala, are none our well-wishers. The ones who choose those untoward ways defiantly are indeed awaiting a terrible punishment which would only bring in useless remorse for them. After reciting the above mentioned verse, please look into the difference: When you gain or lose something worldly, what happens to you – how do you react? When you accomplish or miss a good deed, what is your feeling?
The answer will inform you the status of Iman in heart. If a believer can meditate on the verses of Holy Quran and Hadith sincerely, InshaAllah there is Hidayat (straight path) for him. Allah Taala will broad open his heart. See my dear friend, what Allah says in a very fascinating way
(meaning): So I ask about a person whose heart Allah has opened up for Islam, and consequently he proceeds in a light from his Lord. Sura Zumar: 22
